Arab College of Applied Sciences Secures Prestigious ERASMUS+ Project, Advancing Higher Education

Rafah, December 15, 2022 – The Arab College of Applied Sciences (ACAS) proudly announces a significant achievement in its pursuit of excellence, innovation, and global development. The college has successfully secured funding from the European Union’s ERASMUS+ program for a capacity-building project in higher education for the year 2022. ACAS has emerged as a primary strategic partner in this endeavor, alongside five esteemed institutions from Europe and the Middle East. The project, aptly named “Entrepreneurial Mindset and Skills for All,” is planned for implementation over a comprehensive three-year period, from 2023 to 2026.

Dr. Rawhi Awaja, the esteemed dean of ACAS, expressed immense pride and admiration for the college’s Planning and External Relations Department, highlighting their dedicated efforts that have resulted in this remarkable accomplishment. These endeavors reflect ACAS’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the capabilities of their faculty and students while solidifying their regional and international standing. ACAS actively pursues developmental projects and establishes strategic partnerships with renowned universities and educational institutions across the Arab world and Europe. Recent successes include partnership agreements with prestigious educational institutions in Greece, Belgium, Ukraine, and Spain.


Dr. Doaa Harb, the Head of ACAS’s Planning and External Relations Department, shed light on the objectives of the “EMSA” project. It aims to elevate the competencies of educational and vocational training institutions in curriculum design, material development, and assessment tools. Furthermore, the project seeks to empower personnel working in higher education and vocational training through a series of dynamic activities and workshops. Dr. Harb emphasized that ACAS assumes a crucial role as a key partner in the project, collaborating with five other esteemed institutions from Cyprus, Greece, Jordan, and Egypt.

It is essential to note that ERASMUS+ projects are generously funded by the European Union, with the overarching goal of enhancing the quality of higher education in various countries, including Palestine. These initiatives are dedicated to strengthening the capacities of higher education institutions, elevating the skills of faculty and staff, and fostering robust academic and student exchanges between Palestinian and European institutions.
