Registration and Academic Load

Courses are registered within the deadlines specified in the approved academic calendar and in coordination with the academic advisor and the study plan of the chosen program. Students are considered committed to their registered courses after the add/drop period ends. Registration outside the announced deadlines may be subject to additional fees in accordance with the College’s regulations and policies

The normal academic load ranges from 12 to 18 credit hours during a regular semester. The academic load may be increased to a maximum of 22 credit hours with the approval of the Dean of the College for academically outstanding students or students expected to graduate, in accordance with the regulations and requirements of the academic program

The maximum academic load during the summer semester is 10 credit hours. This limit may be increased to 12 credit hours for students expected to graduate who need additional courses to fulfill their graduation requirements during the summer term

Academic study plans are structured around prerequisite and co-requisite requirements that ensure the proper sequencing of courses. Students may be required to successfully complete certain courses before enrolling in others, while some courses may require concurrent enrollment in related courses during the same semester in accordance with the approved study plan

Students placed on academic probation are subject to special registration regulations and may not register for more than 15 credit hours per semester. This measure is intended to help them improve their academic performance and raise their cumulative GPA

Bachelor’s degree programs normally extend over four academic years comprising eight semesters, while Associate Diploma programs extend over two academic years comprising four semesters. Academic regulations define both the minimum and maximum duration of study to ensure the completion of graduation requirements in accordance with the approved study plan

Attendance and Class Participation

Regular attendance of theoretical, practical, and training sessions is an essential requirement of university study. Students are expected to attend all scheduled academic activities in accordance with the approved timetable. Attendance and absences are documented through the official academic records maintained for each course

Bachelor’s degree students may be absent for up to 30% of the scheduled contact hours of a course, while Associate Diploma students may be absent for up to 25% of the scheduled contact hours. Exceptions may be considered in cases supported by officially approved excuses in accordance with the applicable academic procedures and regulations

Medical excuses and exceptional circumstances are accepted in accordance with the College’s approved regulations, provided that the required official documentation is submitted within the specified timeframe. Students are responsible for monitoring their academic status and communicating with the course instructor or the Admissions and Registration Department whenever circumstances arise that may affect their academic attendance or progress

Students who exceed the permitted absence limit without an approved excuse may be denied access to the final examination for the course. In such cases, the minimum failing grade shall be recorded in accordance with the academic regulations governing the study program

Regular attendance and active participation in educational activities contribute significantly to improving academic performance and enhancing opportunities for success and excellence. Therefore, the College encourages students to attend classes consistently and make use of office hours and academic advising services whenever needed
